Instructions for Adding Links to the Student Portal
- Website Name:
- Enter the name of the website in Column 1.
- Repeat Website Name:
- Re-type the same website name in Column 2.
- Once you’ve typed the website again in this column, you’ll then want to open a separate tab - navigate to the website for which you listed - highlight the website address (URL), copy it “control C” copies it. Then go back to the Online Links tab, go to Column 2, find the website name that matches, highlight it, right-click and select the LINK icon and paste the website.
- User Credentials:
- If the website requires a username and/or password, enter this information in Column 3.
- Repeat this step for each individual user, ensuring that every user has their unique login/password information listed for the same website.
- Student Portal Dashboard:
- After creating the student portal page for each student:
- Navigate to Column 4, titled "Student Portal Dashboard."
- You should see a dropdown or selection menu that allows you to choose the corresponding student portal page where the website link will be attached.
- Ensure each website is properly linked to the appropriate student’s portal.
- Remember, each student requires their own individual link to the website, so duplicating the website title and URL is expected.
- Adding Website Icons:
- If desired, you can include an image icon for the website in Column 5
- To do this:
- Find an appropriate image using Google.
- Save the image to your desktop where it’s easy to locate.
- Upload the image to Column 5.
- Ensure the image file is smaller than 5MB.
Note: This ensures each student’s portal is correctly configured with unique login credentials and links visible on their Student Portal Dashboard.
